Innovation in nursing practice: implementing new technologies and approaches to improve patient care

Technological advances have enabled innovation in healthcare practices, with digital tools representing one of the most positive impacts on the training of future professionals, as well as on daily practice. These tools offer significant opportunities to improve processes and reduce risks during patient care. The objective of this study was to determine the impact of technology on the daily practice of nursing professionals. A bibliographic review was conducted, focusing on articles published within the last five years in indexed journals that reference new technologies employed by nursing staff. The methodology applied was Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN), selecting studies whose practical evidence allows for identifying achievements related to the quality of care. New technologies have allowed for innovation in daily practice while maintaining the human touch; although technology streamlines tasks, the essence of human care remains. Technological tools facilitate nursing work, enhancing commitment to continuous knowledge updating and proper implementation of these tools. However, the current paradigm emphasizes integrating the triad of healthcare personnel, technology, and patient.
