The study was conducted at "Felipe Ángeles" Elementary School during the 2023-2024 academic year through the educational project titled “Violence Is the Worst Legacy,” aimed at 5th-grade students (5° A) and framed within the Critical Interculturality axis of the New Mexican School (NEM). The initiative aimed to address the issues of physical and verbal violence observed in the classroom, as well as the lack of collaboration among students. The project began with a diagnosis that identified violence as the primary problem, which allowed the design of a plan based on the Project-Based Learning (PBL) methodology. Students actively participated in reflection, research, and proposing solutions, exploring the causes of violence through interviews, observations, and artistic workshops. From these activities, they developed practical actions, such as creating informative brochures and dramatizations, which promoted positive changes in classroom dynamics. As a result, a classroom environment characterized by greater respect, collaboration, and peaceful coexistence was observed, where students assumed an active role in violence prevention, contributing to a safer and more motivating school environment. The experience demonstrated the effectiveness of PBL and interculturality as pedagogical strategies to address real problems, develop socio-emotional competencies, strengthen meaningful learning, and foster inclusive participation among all students.
