Pedagogy of care, care of self, care of othersAbstract
The pedagogy of care is the teaching practice that contributes to the protection of students. The purpose is to address their needs as they are immersed in an environment where situations of risk, vulnerability, and conflict coexist, affecting their integrity. The response to contribute to the reality presented is through respect, empathy, affection, and care for others and for oneself, characteristics that allude to a pedagogy of care. The objective of this article was to analyze teaching strategies related to the pedagogy of care in a primary institution located in a traditional neighborhood of Pachuca, Hidalgo, using qualitative methodology through techniques such as on-site classroom observations and teacher interviews. Consequently, it is necessary to define actions for the protection of those who require immediate attention. It is concluded that teachers must support their praxis based on harmony, respect, self-care, and care for interaction, as well as eradicate patterns of violence, which is what the pedagogy itself refers to.
