This review article analyzed the advances and challenges in the protection of children’s rights in the 21st century, examining the international legal framework and its application in different contexts. The study employed a mixed methodology, combining the analysis of international and national legal documents (treaties, laws, jurisprudence) with a comparative case analysis. This approach allowed the identification of key trends, challenges, and best practices in child protection law. Despite significant progress, the results highlight persistent challenges such as poverty, inequality, and discrimination; violence against children in all its forms; labor and sexual exploitation; the situation of street and migrant children; access to education and healthcare; and the impact of new technologies. The article concludes by reflecting on the future of children’s rights in the 21st century and the need for a comprehensive and multisectoral approach to ensure the well-being and development of all children.
