Abstract

This article analyzes the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in scientific research and higher education, highlighting both its opportunities and the ethical challenges it entails. Artificial Intelligence not only automates routine tasks but also facilitates content generation, complex data analysis, and the creation of adaptive learning environments, optimizing productivity and enhancing innovation. However, its use requires rigorous human oversight, as ethical, legal, and academic responsibility rests exclusively with the authors. Responsible use of these technologies involves protecting confidentiality and intellectual property rights and avoiding algorithmic biases that could affect fairness and scientific integrity. In education, teachers must guide students in the critical use of Artificial Intelligence, fostering digital skills, critical thinking, ethical judgment, and academic responsibility, ensuring that the technology complements, not replaces, creativity, pedagogical reflection, and human interaction. The ethical implementation of Artificial Intelligence requires responsible ecosystems that integrate technological innovation, sustainability, and academic humanism, ensuring that knowledge production is trustworthy, inclusive, and socially responsible, and that it contributes to the comprehensive development of students and the integrity of scientific research.
