The importance of linking artificial intelligence with the New Mexican School model is not merely a matter of technical updates or staying at the forefront with trendy applications. Rather, it represents an opportunity to rethink the purpose of education in our secondary school classrooms, ensuring that any digital tool we use is always at the service of inclusion, community, and the critical thinking that we so strongly promote today. The findings of this work suggest that artificial intelligence should be viewed solely as a pedagogical support that helps students construct their own knowledge, functioning as a tool that strengthens their autonomy but should under no circumstances replace their own mental effort or original creativity. The goal is to promote genuine digital literacy where students learn to question what they see on screens and to detect fake news so as not to become dependent on technology. For this reason, our role as teachers must urgently transform, leaving behind the old model where we simply delivered content for students to memorize, and becoming facilitators who foster deeper reflection and engaging debates in the classroom. In this new scenario, assessment must also shift its focus, as it no longer makes sense to grade only the final project, which can be generated by a machine in seconds. Instead, we must value each student's reasoning and critical participation.
